Huawei Mate 20 Lite

That was a killer deal
Yeah, i managed to order it online on the last day, they phoned to confirm and process the order within 30 minutes. Just awaiting details on a delivery date. Touch wood that they don't stuff up the contract.

Also got the equivalent P Smart deal that was also a bargain of note for R150 p.m. on FreeMe 1gb including 100 any-network minutes p.m.

So my first charge took 4.5 hours to get to 100%, is that normal? The first 3 hours of charging the phone was off and got to 49% before i turned it on.

The phone does have fast charging, I do not recall my phone taking more than 3 hours to fully charge unless using a computer to charge my phone. Could be a faulty Power brick.

Are you using the USB - C cable that came with the phone? If you use a third part cable or a cable from another manufacturer, it will not use the fast charging as the pin configuration is different from cable to cable.

My second charge at home took only 2.5 hours from 0% to 100%. Is that more normal? My first charge was at work. Both charging sessions I was plugged into mains.

Much more. My phone always charges quickly.

Is you battery draining quickly?

For that size battery on a fast charger it should be under 2 hours

Are you using a fast charger? if not then it sounds right
I'm using the Quick Charger that the phone came with as the Mate 20 Lite doesn't support Huawei SuperCharge (fast charging).

Hey all

I got the phone via an upgrade at MTN (mom's contract; she doesn't care for phones) but need to flash another ROM to get dual sim functionality (MTN firmware locks to single SIM only).

Has anyone successfully done this? As far as I can tell, Huawei does not allow the bootloader to be unlocked anymore...not officially, anyway. :((

*bump* 2 years on, almost time for an upgrade. Any recommendations that supports Google Services?

P30 Lite 2020 Edition or a Xiaomi Mi 9.
Thanks, P30 lite is less powerful though than the mate 20 lite? How is the Xiaomi Mi 9? I'm looking for something with more oomph and the best battery life possible.

The Xiaomi is a powerhouse. Check Youtube for reviews. It's a proper flagship experience on a budget.
