Mine also says disabled (the CAT 6 LTE) , so it can't be that . Having a look at your screen shot now it is just very weird that yours says 4G/3G slot (and the :"This slot supports more bands and better network signal") whereas mine says 4G slot (Select a 4G card slot) . Mine is stock Cell C stock ,so iv done no changes etc so it can't be that either .

Just dropped the phone off at cell c sandton. They called 3 Huawei techies who were in the centre who admitted its an OBF. Now it has to be sent to the cell c repair centre to be checked. I am not sure they will understand the issue as its not the simplest to explain :(

Sorry to hear , hope they don't take too long to get it sorted . It was definitely weird though that you were having those issues with the duel sim function .

Have to ask - screen at full brightness?

Power saving on or off?

Screen brightness on around 60% unless I go out doors when I then turn on automatic brightness . The Mate 7 has 3 power settings , Ultra , Smart and Normal . I keep mine on smart . I have tried it on Normal as well and to be honest I have not noticed any lag or slowing down whilst using the smart mode , so iv just left it there .

Interesting...

I guess you get used to a less bright screen quote quickly.

I keep mine on auto, setting about 80%. I only push it to full in sunlight, and at night I take it right down. Works great.

Yeah. I've dropped my Note 4 screen to about 55%. It's working well.

The Smart Power setting sounds like what I do on my Note 4, I set it to Power Save with CPU being the only Option ticked. It throttles the CPU frequency and runs mostly on 2cores unless more power is needed.

Smart power on the Mate 7 is somewhat more restrictive. We have the power to choose exactly which apps are allowed to run once the display is switched off. I run mine on normal - the battery is large enough to last all day anyway.

Oh I see, it sounds a lot like Sony's 'Stamina Mode'.

Yeah we don't have that. Samsung's Power Saving is mainly about making the hardware eat less power e.g. Throttling CPU, Reducing Display Refresh Rate, Auto adjusting colour tone of the display to eat less battery, Greyscale Display etc...

I like the sound of that Smart Mode.

Why? It looks like a great phone. I'm looking at moving away from Samsung and this phone is my first choice.
Me too. The mate 8 was my first choice, after the 7. Not sure why they'd shrink the screen from 6.0" to 5.5. It's less than that because Huaweis don't have capacitive buttons. The buttons themselves take up screen real estate.

Edit: and why would they make the battery so much smaller?? :(
