Huawei’s first phone to sport a pop-up selfie camera:
The Huawei P smart Z is the first phone from the company to sport a pop-up selfie camera. This means the 6.59” LCD screen is unblemished by a notch, which most of the recent Huawei phones have. This is not an expensive phone, it’s up on Amazon Italy for €280 (~ R4500).
The mid-range price means that there’s no in-display fingerprint reader, instead you get a traditional reader on the back. There you’ll notice the dual texture finish, which gives it a bit of a Pixel look. Also on the back is the 16MP main camera and the 2MP depth sensor.
All of this runs on the Kirin 710F chipset hooked up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (there’s a microSD slot for up to 512GB more memory). The phone runs Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 out of the box.
The Huawei P smart Z has a 4,000mAh battery, there’s no mention of fast charging. It does use USB-C, which is news only because the P smart 2019 uses microUSB.
