I made sure all my pics, vids, etc was backed up,
Then I copied from my PC directly to my phone.

Apps, I didn't mind redownloading.
I'm trying to pull the apple plug, so this is a fresh start

The only time I've used an Apple device, was when I got the original iPhone all those years back.

Never used it again,

Been using Android ever since.

seems i may have to try again, this morning it went ballistic with the google sign in messages, noticed last night that notifications from apps were not working either.

iPhone, i got one due to my director getting one, and if questions were asked about 'how to' i needed to answer it, and it just stuck

I don't receive any push notifications for Gmail, etc.

WhatsApp works fine though.

I'm quite happy with Android, and use quite a bit of Google applications for work as well,

I have been using an Apple since the iPhone5, been using the P40 pro for a week now, and i think the Apple is going in the box
Are you running your P40 with GMS?

Even without GMS, the phone is brilliant,

That's great,

How's your battery life?
And did you manage to get the FNB banking app?

I had GMS installed,
So didn't do the phone clone thing,

Everything worked well except for push notifications on Gmail.

Battery was maybe around 15% at 11pm, from a full charge at 5am, with heavy usage (lots of calls, WhatsApp msgs, web browsing and Videos)

I've now changed to a OnePlus 8 Pro

OnePlus, Oppo, Huawei, Samsung and Sony phones win EISA 2020-2021 awards

The Huawei P40 Pro is the top pick in the Smartphone Camera category. The 50 MP main and 12 MP periscope cameras, plus the 40 MP ultra wide Cine cam deliver “stunning daily photos and night shots of unmatched quality without unwanted noise or aberrations”.
