But guys is the P10 even still in production... it's a 2017 phone and by the time the contract runs out in 2020 it would be sooo old news... even with regards to software upgrades and all the tech stuff

Any phone is old by the time the contract ends. The P20 will be 2 models out of date by then, the p10 3 models, not that big of a deal tbh.

I tested P9 lite, P10 lite and P Smart. Honestly the P9 lite and P10 lite is superior in my opinion. All the contracts I purchase from telkom(R199 free me 1GB).

Need a phone, just something budget, but not super budget.

Came across these 2 phones, both seem fine for what I need.

P8 Lite 2017 is a bit cheaper than the P Smart, but is the extra pay in on the P Smart worth it?

I would go for PSmart and with the new updates, I heard the psmart has face unlock

My P8 lite (not 2017) has been good, but also great (considering the price I paid for it; R139/month w/ Telkom). I was looking to upgrade to the P Smart, but I hope it drops from R199/month soon, or Telkom get whatever Hauwei replace it with for a good price.
