Huawei in partnership with the highly reputable audio technology company Devialet brings you the new Huawei Sound X. The Huawei Sound X is well made and it produces premium sound going toe to toe with competitors in the market easily surpassing most of them as the Huawei and Devialet partnership has birthed a new player in the Bluetooth speaker field. The Huawei Sound X is made out of a sleek glossy impact-resistant polycarbonate finish, and has visible subwoofers, with a stain resistant mesh encasing the lower third of its body, adding to its durability. It has a led lit control panel at the top with the volume up and down, sound mute and th Bluetooth pairing function button. The speaker also has a motion sensor that lights up the led control panel once your hand comes close to the speaker a cool function especially in a dark environment.

The Huawei Sound X is beautiful designed with the dual subwoofer speakers exposed on the sides and the 6 tweeter speakers well placed around the speaker. The exposed dual subwoofers are capable of producing upto 40hz low frequencies without any distortions. The 6 tweeter speakers also produce and maximum of 40khz high frequencies. The Devialet's Push-Push Acoustic Design helps the speaker to produce upto SPL 93dB2 of clear, nuanced sound, unlike traditional speaker units that will shake and lose quality at high volumes.

The Huawei Sound X has a gesture control function that allows you to mute the audio by just placing your palm over the speaker and it mutes. The Huawei Sound X also shares music from your Huawei mobile device by just a tap through the Huawei share functionality and in an instant your listening experience evolve to high sound quality.

The Huawei Sound X comes in at 203mm height and a 165mm diameter, it weighs about 3,5kg and it comes in glossy black. In the box you get the Huawei Sound X, charging adapter, charging cable and wiping cloth to wipe the fingerprint loving glossy black body of the speaker.

The downside to this good performing speaker is the lack of voice command something that hopefully Huawei will add with future software updates. The speaker also has no USB ports on it something that others may view as a good thing as you don't want to have usbs sticking out on a premium Bluetooth speaker. For a portable Bluetooth speaker the Huawei Sound X is a bit heavy at 3,5kgs but that weight can not outclass the sound quality that speaker pushes.

Official price of the Huawei Sound X in South Africawill be announced soon on the official Huawei sites and social media pages soon.

Devialet is the company that developed the Phantom Gold! Can't wait to listen to this Huawei speaker.

Way too expensive. AED 1300.
If we use that as a baseline and convert to zar, it's over 6k zar.

The Devialet products are very expensive - the Phantom Reactor costs around $1350 and the Phantom Gold is $3000! R6000 doesn't seem too bad after looking at the local pricing of the Phantoms (R31000 and R58000 respectively!). I think the Sound X would sell a lot better at a local price closer to R4000.

I think premium devices and gadgets carry premium prices, there is other cheaper huawei Bluetooth speakers for lower budget clients

Is this portable? i.e. does it have an internal battery? Does it have any other inputs besides Bluetooth? What version of Bluetooth does it have?

The Huawei Sound x uses bluetooth 5.0 and it does not have a rechargeable internal battery it works while plugged to the power adapter
