Hubble Batteries

Yeah, 50A (0.5C) for AM2 aswell.

The manual doesn't even mention current:

Ok have dropped to 150A for the 3 batteries charging

This is data exposed in HA from Solar Assistant connected directly to the batteries. The new battery also jumping cycle(s)? it appears. Anyone have the same on their side.

I will update the firmware on all them in the next week once hubble sends the files.

It did 1 cycle in 1 min?

Yes - since all the data is coming from the Solar Assistant - Hubble connection , I don't know. Hubble 1 has been the most consistent.

Now it seems even the new seems to do a cycle in 1 minute. Perhaps it's a solar assistant reading issue. Would be nice to know if anyone else has been picking the same via their Solar Assistant but RIOT if they have it , showing something different.

Hubble 1: (was the sole battery, then master battery for 2 years, until this past monday)

Wonder why Solar Assistant shows it goes to 0 before the next cycle

Hubble 2 : 2 years old

Hubble 3: New Battery installed (Now the master)

Sorry I can’t comment except that you should ignore solar assistant.

just remember, the second you run that firmware update, all that data , of cycle's etc, gets wiped from the battery

Maybe a good thing as they're useless as it is now. 1300-1800 cycles in 2 years? 1 cycle a day = 1300-1800 days or 3.5 - 5 years minimum assuming using 100% DoD.

Yeah, these cycles don't make sense. And I definitely have not been flattening these daily so not like cycle counts should be that high.

Most importantly, if Hubble tells you to update firmware which erases all the cycle history , how the heck do they honour warranty claims down the line? Doesn't make sense unless they have another way to see what the true cycle usage is?

They don’t tell you anything, except how to run the update,

I noticed it when Solar-Assist showed my batteries as all having 0 cycles after the update, and that they were at approx 90% charged before the update, and suddenly they all at exactly 50% , but back at 100 in about 20 minutes

My theory is that they wipe all the built up data , and let the bms rebuild its data

do you have 2 cycles per day also?

Upgraded all the firmware on the 3 batteries today

They had supplied revision 1.50, 2.50, 4.50 for the various versions of BMS

1766238983038.png

Steps:
Battery bank at 100% -> Good Solar day
1. Disconnected all the battery fuses
2. Updated Master Battery - the Newest one (it accepted Firmware revision 4.50)
3. Updated Original Battery - it accepted 2.50 only
4. Updated second battery - accepted 4.50 version of firmware <-- this is the battery that was working the hardest.

Then after the firmware was done.
1. Connected the Fuses again1.
2. then turned off all the batteries and on again (should have done this first). I didn't see the power switch

then also restarted solar assistant

-- Strangely on Solar Assistant
- Cycles on batteries have not changed. Still showing the same cycles. They did not reset to 0 ?
- Battery voltage is 54.1

Will give it a day and see what happens -

Did you try update the battery thats on v2.5 again? Sometimes they won't let you skip too many versions and you need to go up a major version at a time.
