Huge A*ce Root in my backyard

Have you found the end point? Where was this root going? That’s a lot of sap for a tree root.
You need to find out what type of root this is.

I tried to find out but dint get much help from the local nursery or stodels.
I sent the grounded lanscaping website people a message with images but they removed the pictures from my comment and below was their response

Update - managed to remove the corner piece today. Had to buy a wood chisel as a saw wouldn't reach. Took me an hour to remove that piece. It kept squirting sap.

hit the root with a hammer at a few more places, I expect that that sap will drain out and will be a little easier to saw.

Could you "hook" the root and start pulling it with block and tackle or some type of ratchet system?

I dont understand

Drill some holes in that root and throw some sodium metabisulfite granules into the holes, it will turn the wood into pulp, effectively killing the root and making it rot away.

Bonus: the root turns into compost and you don't have to bother removing it as it will not survive and will degrade quickly.

The tree definitely died. So stopped digging out the root.

the one with flowers isnt the problematic one. That one is health, The one next to it was the culprit

Is this safe for other plants and trees that would be next to these roots?

I have massive poplar roots that weren’t removed when the trees were cut and i need to kill them without hurting the new trees we planted.
