Technically they should, but the problem is - Air Nam need to be paid, and if SAA is broke, and cannot afford to buy you a ticket, what then?

Or they're too busy to strike to attend to their clients...

Of course you can do the booking yourself and try to claim it back, but if they don't reimburse you due to being bankrupt...

Nah, I'll stick to somebody else rather, thank you.

SAA has just suspended the Hong Kong route -- though, in my opinion, this is more to do with a reduction in demand owing to the political situation in Hong Kong (other airlines are also cutting back on Hong Kong) and less to do with SAA's own problems (though this is surely a contributing factor).

That's inaccurate. Those are codeshare destinations. SAA fly to less than half on that list.

That's true -- hadn't had my morning coffee when I looked at the list the first time. (It was just Hong Kong that jumped out at me from the posted list initially).

You have to be more than a little thick to go and book a ticket on an airline which you know is on the brink of insolvency. Regardless of all the press releases about possible partnerships which frankly, are reeking of desperation, which should be raising serious alarm bells in anyone planning to fly.

The poor souls will have to go to NYC instead this year ... horrors!
