Hulu PLUs Apple TV 3

Yes, also Google is a thing that exists.

thanx,

Also i did google, and some people suggest you can't while others suggest you can. The youtube reviews i watched did not have a Hulu PLUS app installed on the Apple TV which makes it even more suspicious. Most people refer to the 2nd gen Apple TV and i am getting the 3rd Gen.

Hulu is an app, as far as I understand, where as Plus is just the package that you pay for. So yes you can get Hulu on the Apple TV.

You will need to get a proxy service and you will need to update the Apple TV's network settings accordingly.

Is it possible to get hulu plus on apple tv 3?

The Hulu Plus app will only appear on an Apple TV2 or TV3 if your are logged in with a US Apple ID. All you then need is a DNS service like Unotelly and the $8 a month subscription fee for Hulu Plus and you should be up and running.

Weird, .I did not have to sign in with an AppleID. I got a brand new Apple TV 3, unboxed and plugged it in, changed my dns, and updated my region to US, and BAM!!!! hulu is there.

I had the exact same problem. I swapped between my SA and US ID's and Hulu Plus appeared and disappeared accordingly. However, there was no BAM!!!!

Why do you peeps have to enter an AppleID?

I am not even sure where to do it :wtf: Mine works without it...

I swop between US and UK because NowTV is only available on the UK ID. The NowTV app disappears when I'm on my US ID.

Interesting.. So u saying the apps don't stay like they do on iOS for mobile devices when signing in with different credentials?

Yes. The apps/channels appear and disappear according to you ID. There's no NowTV on the US or SA ID's, only UK. On the SA ID, there's no Hulu Plus, Netflix, Willow TV (cricket channel), HBO, SkyNews, Disney etc. The US ID has most of the stuff except NowTV as mentioned before which makes having an SA ID useless for me.

You can't choose which apps are available on an Apple TV, other than hiding ones you don't use. It's not like your iPad or iPhone. Not sure if jailbreaking an Apple TV changes that.

hmmm, i still don't get it...

The only way i can choose what apps are on my AppleTV is by changing my region.

i have not yet signed in with an apple id, nor do i have a place where i can enter my apple credentials.

Go to Settings>iTunes Store>Apple IDs to sign in/out and to swop between ID's by clicking on the relevant ID. When you want to subscribe to Hulu, Netflix, HBO Now, NowTV etc, then Apple debit the subscription free from the ID that's currently logged in.
