Previous employer used: https://www.hr-focus.com/
Current employer uses: https://ess.sagesouthafrica.co.za/

I find that they come with a wealth of additional features that HR rarely doesn't use. Beyond leave tracking/booking and payslip availability, I've never seen them keep things up to date on any of the other modules/features.

For a simple use case you could take an off the shelf calendar/booking system integrated with a secure file share and you'd have the same thing pretty much.

We use Successfactors and it's excellent. Not sure what you need but it covers everything in HR and how we support employees.

Gets my vote.

Sage is the HR/payroll version of Satan on acid. The poorest developed, least stable product I have ever met. Every time I engage with it I am amazed that pile of crocodile faeces is SARS certified...

...and that's BEFORE HR get hold of it. Then things get.... exciting.

Interesting fact. Although Microsoft has their own hr solution, they actually use Successfactors from SAP for hr globally (not even their own solution)...
