hundred pushups program

so after my initial start, I decided to check good form push ups on youtube and saw that I was doing crummy push ups, so I restarted and it was a lot harder but week 1 went by ok and week 2 went by a bit harder but I tried day one of week three earlier and it was just insane - I don't think I will be able to manage col 2 of week 3, but I will try day 2 in 2 days time and see how it goes.
Day one of week 3 goes 12, 17, 13, 13 , 17+, I managed 12, 17, 13, 11, 16 and then I did an extra set of 7 (all I could manage, arms lost all power) to compensate for the missing 3.

Also fell off the wagon a little but I started week 3 day 1 again on Sunday. I've just finished day 2 of week 3 and I'm finished! Feels good though...I'm a lot warmer than I was twenty minutes ago!

Thing is, there isn't really "bad form" as such. Well, technically, I suppose you could arch your back and and pull a muscle or something silly, but in general, there isn't really a wrong way to do a push-up. Different forms = different muscles/areas of muscle. My current tricep routine involves 3 sets of 10 wide, 10 shoulder and 10 close (diamond) push-ups. That means you exercise shoulders, chest and triceps. The reason why diamond push-ups are much harder to do is because that particular muscle is weaker and has less support from other muscles.

Same with pull-ups. Close-grip, chin-ups, drop-downs, wide-grip. None of those are wrong. They just target different muscle groups. :)

col 2, day 2, week 3.
hell on earth!!
I scraped through by the skin of my teeth.
Not sure if I will be able to do day 3 week 3, lost all feeling in arms.
Will more than likely be repeating week 3.
Kudos to anyone week 4 or higher!!!!

Commander, reporting in!

Day 3, week 3 - completed. So glad it's over (glad that I don't have to suffer anymore and glad that I managed to complete it). Pushed 24 pushups for the last set - I wanted 25 but my arms wanted something else (making at total of 91 pushups for the day)!!!.

lived666...week 3 day 2 was also tough for me but I actually think day 3 of week 3 was a little more bearable (ok only just...but still better than day 2). I'm looking forward to next week...but only because it's pay day - decided I'm going to start week 4 on Monday. We should try and sync our days to report back to the Commander?

My spreadsheet is finally balanced - 50% green at long last!
Shepard out (the female version lol).

well done!!
24 hours later and I still have no feeling in upper arms, so would be quite surprised if I manage day 3.
Anyhow Awesome.
Day 1 week 4 looming ahead for you, your arms going to have to find the 25th push up on the last set, good luck :)

Fell off the bandwagon, but still good enough to cruise (ie suffer and curse) through week 3. On week 4, column 1, day 3 now.

So as I was anticipating, day 3,week 3 (col 2) didn’t go so well.
The required 5 sets are 16, 21, 15, 15, 21+ and I managed the first 4 ok, 21, 16, 15, 15 but then collapsed at 14 on the last set.
Its not too bad a feeling when you almost black out, its similar to the kind of black out you have when you get decent wasabi and have a tad too much.
Anyhow not being a quitter, I rested a few minutes and did a sixth set and this time just nailed the 21.
Sadly though not good enough to progress to week 4, so I think I will do another week all of week 3 day 3 (col 2) until I nail it smoothly!

Seriously well done to anyone week 4 or higher as this doesn't get easier!

I repeated week 6 this week (due to circumstances missed a day of last week - I know excuses excuses :P) -

Anyway - I managed to scrape through week 6 by the end of it (but barely)

The required sets are (13, 13, 17, 17, 16, 16, 14, 14, 50)

having only 45 seconds rest between each set -

I suppose I can now go for the 100 pushups - but i've decided to rather jump a column and redo week 6 on a harder scale -

I concur with lived666 - anyone who is keeping on with this - congratulations!!!

Oh thought I would add -

I have done pushups a total of 35 evenings with 7 tests in between

Over those 42 days I have done a total 3656 pushups

that is SCARY
