I currently do arround 4100-4900 dps in an average 25 man raid (TotC & Ony) and want to do more. Can anyone recommend a good build and glyphs?

My current build is 0 / 15 / 57 and my Glyphs are Glyph of Explosive shot, Glyph of Steady shot and Glyph of the Hawk. Any tips will be greatly appreciated! :D

Hunter builds are very much dependant on gear levels.

On current single target nuking encounters like Patchwerk 25 man, I can do around 11k DPS sustained nuking... but then of course there is very tight criteria to achieve those figures.

BM is still your best leveling build, survival is best for entry level raiding, and once your gear levels are up to decent levels, thats when the MM builds shine.

However if you go MM route with the incorrect gear items, you will cripple yourself.

My offspec is currently survival with a 0/15/56 setup and glyphs are :
Serpent sting glyph, Explosive shot, Kill shot.

My main raiding spec is MM, and my talent setup is 7/57/7 with glyphs : serpent, kill, steady.

But again... do not copy just any build. Its very dependant on stats + gear levels. If you stack up on ArP as survival, you will end up worse.

There is tons of good Hunter info here from all the hunter dudes :)

Well my gear is ok I guess... Beimba 607 and Gearscore is 5074.

I used BM to lvl and then swapped over to SV. Still trying to top the DPS meeters.

Huntergrunt, any chance on you posting your armory link? Or at least PM'ing it to us?

Yup gear is not too bad.

Surprised he hasnt moved over to MM yet... survival gear becomes harder and harder to get once you move into ICC.
Also his bow should be fixed tommorow within the maintenance period.

Turjin has nice gear but he is way over hit cap! So are you.
With no point in Focused Aim you should aim for 263 HR minimum but try get as close to it without having much more.

First thing: please get rid of the Victor's Call trinket, utterly useless to you. Expertise doesn't affect Hunters and the proc only applies to melee which again is useless to you.

Don't forget to put a scope on that bow or yours ;)

You need at least one point in Go For The Throat to make sure your pet isn't energy starved. Drop one from Master Tactitian to get it.

Don't waste gems in getting more Haste, you've got plenty from gear and should rather be spending it on getting more Crit, yours being low. Try getting it to 50% and if possible even higher.

As Survival, don't stack too much ArP as the bulk of your damage comes from Explosive Shot which won't benefit from it at all. What you have is fine to beef up your Auto Shots and Steady Shots a little.

Otherwise it looks good ^_^

Gear loaded with Armor penetration stats....

Very bad for Survival... incredibly good for MM.

I can do around 11k DPS sustained nuking.

Armory please..
Really struggling to believe this. Especially considering the duration on the patchwerk fight now. I haven’t done him in ages. But with current gear levels I estimate that the fight would last just over a min on 25 man with TotGC/ICC gear

Please enlighten me

Do you have rogues chain casting tricks on you or what? 11k is just nuts. I thought i was pooning when i could sustain 9k dps...

Nope... the rogues are Tott themselves in rotation. That specific encounter I am talking about, we did'nt have any DK's in the raid so I missed on a very important buff, but all my buffs are visible in the my screenshot.

Also I could have pushed the dps mark higher if I had some potion of wild magic on me. So I had to settle for a crappy potion of speed.

We hunters get NO tricks of the trade... and NO hysteria...

Trust me... I tried to bribe em... :(

Thanks! That is some valuble advice :D Greatly appreciated.

All the ICC gear and lvl 245 items are loaded with Hit rating :( Im sure everyone with this gear will be way over capped?

Ye I know that is a crappy trinket (sadly I didnt read the stats properly when I rolled on it) Im saving up for the Emblems of Frost Trinket :D

Xbow has a scope on it IDK why Armory isnt picking it up :O

Ill make the necessary talent changes... thanks.

Ill work on the crit gems and loose the haste ones (I have an alt JC :D) What you thinkis better Crit and Agility or Attack power and agility?

AND...

Now we have a SV build set, I recon I should loose my BM spec and start fiddling with a decent MM build ;)

As promised : http://img215.imageshack.us/i/wowscrnshot010310214929.jpg/

I also noticed now the totems gave me the much needed agility buff the DK's would have provided should they have been there.
Granted Patchwerk is a unique dps situation as its one of very few encounters where hunters can nuke uninterrupted. In any normal boss encounter there is movement involved and then you break the hunter dps rotations.
