TV5 channels (monde and others) have some quality shows from time to time as well as rubbish. I used to use a VPN to get the local films/shows from the website streaming service. Lost interest in French some time ago.
Also to develop real world French, if you are not doing so already, read French news articles and develop your vocab. as soon as you hit a word you do not know or the grammar is not how would have done it yourself up to that point.

It’s difficult because of pronunciation has a lot to do with how you form your mouth.
And French is a very round language. If you understand what i'm saying.

I would love to speak a east Block language too but they have their own alphabet.
I think children should have the opportunity to take other languages in school. Other than the native ones.
Well done, for me it's the most beautiful language to listen to, did a year at the alliance and some conversational after that but sadly have not used it enough and lost a lot. Still love french movies and I worship Juliette Binoche.

I find on Duolingo that it's much easier to learn a language that has a spelling system that is very phonetic and regular, like e.g. Spanish, Dutch and German. French, similar to English, has a highly irregular and unpredictable spelling system, full of words where letters are sometimes silent, sometimes not, depending where in the sentence the word is and what other words follows it. I would almost say with French it's better to not even know how to spell things and rather just learn it by ear at first and then pick up the spelling later.
