While my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B made a decent home theatre PC, I wanted to test the capabilities of the hardware by turning the credit card-sized computer into a home assistant.

Just a quick one, you might want to link to the actual Mic and speaker you used as its quite a big price difference.

There is a port for Echo to the OrangePi , most OrangePi have a built in Mic and normal stereo out, you can use the GPIO as the activation button incase voice doesn't work.

Cool - need to relook at this. Last year when I looked you could only wake Alexa up with a button.

Got a spare RPI lying around - sounds like a good weekend project.
