So I played wow again. Got tired of trying all the free2play MMORPGs out there. I hadn't played since about 2 months after Cata Released. Then I moved to the UK, where I likely would have found some fun in playing on 35 ms.
I bought a computer much later on and started playing other games, leaving wow alone. My old HC raiding guild was completely revamped and all the people that I played with had moved on, so I figured no point really in getting back in, especially if I cannot raid.
Now I fired it up again after 3 years. I had been buying steam games here and there and soon realised that my monthly expenditure for that quick fix was far more than the wow subs. I doubt I will ever be able to get back into HC raiding, with a 1 yr old at home. But I still find wow to be the king of MMOs. I don't have that same mad desire to play the game as I had back while I was raiding and I figure that without HC raiding I probably wont get back to that point. Especially seeing as the little one is my responsibility between 5pm and 1am on week nights. So any wake ups are mine to deal with. I take a risk every time I think of LFGing a dungeon even, so 4 hours of raiding is beyond out-of-the-picture.
Anyway, the game has changed a lot, but reluctantly I have to admit that it probably fills my gamer satisfaction meter more effectively than most others that I have played in the last few years.
