Hi guys i have an options between these 2 router.
D Link DVA-G3672B
Billion 7402gx

What i need to be able to do is:
>Have the router handle a connection wile another pc can connect using another account.(Billion call this pppoe relay):wtf:
>I need to be able to host a server and have pc behind the same nat join that game. I know that the billion BiPAC 7300GA dose this.DO any of these routers support that feature:D
> must be stable. I have had 2 routers that reset every 4 hours this is not FUN:mad:

Thank you in advance for any help. HAVE AWESOME WEEKEND:D:o:)

I would go for the Billion. Purely because I have never had any problems with mine.

I have no experience on those routers but i prefer using billion routers.
Mine's a Billion 400g, a model below one you want and can do everything you need (was R1000, but got free with telkom lol)

Do you require a router with wireless?

If you don't need wireless, then you can get a very cheap router like the D-Link 2500U (for R300 or less) which supports PPPoE-Relaying. I'm not sure if it supports the NAT loopback that you're looking for - for hosting games. Could you perhaps tell me which game you're having trouble with? I've written a proxy server for Warcraft III for a workaround for the NAT loopback issue.

I could try to test the NAT loopback sometime by borrowing my friend's D-Link DSL-2500U router :)
The only downside of the D-Link DSL-2500U is that it doesn't have wireless and only 1 LAN port. Other than that, its a quite nice router that you can actually do traffic splitting on.

Hmmm Price tho. Its like 2 grand. the dlink is R1100. Then again i have no clue if it has the same functions as the billion

You get what you pay for when it comes to routers. My Billion has not reset in almost 11 months.

What? My input was positive! Learning to spell will vastly improve your life in the long run.

(OP - This isn't in response to your question at all, just a little troll rant :D I don't know either of those routers so I'll leave it up to the more knowledgeable members to take care of you there)

Spelling trolls find it necessary to correct everyone's spelling, not realising that many highly intelligent (usually practically-minded) people have major issues with spelling while still (somehow and for some inexplicable reason ;) ) managing to lead highly successful and fruitful lives.

It may be that they take a lot of pride in their ability to spell and perhaps part of their self-worth is invested in that part of their ego. Maybe not - just a thought.

While some people really make no sense when they type - it can really get bad sometimes - I'm sure you'll find that at least 99% of English-speaking/reading people will be able to understand what you're getting at.

A different router won't fix that. Have the copper replaced or drop the speed.

Do you think that is the problem?
I really think it the router. It dose not reset connection it resets itself and i have noticed just before it dose it the internet dose not work it has the sync light on and the PPPOE light is on. then 30 seconds later RESET. I also think its the router cause the telkom guys were digging in all the boxes in the hole neighborhood for a long time i think they put threw some extra power or something bust the modem then again it could be eskoms fault. a wile ago we had power surges and power outs often. YES my plugs have surge protection in case anyone is wondering but it wouldn't be the first time that surge protection FAILS at stopping a surge. Then on top of that we had lightning a wile ago and did not unplug the stuff. Was not anyone here and we dont get lightning often. Anyway the point i am trying to make is there is a so many things that could have happened to the router and why suddenly out of the blue dose it do this. I mean if it was a line problem wouldn't it show on in the line stats things. Line attenuation and line noise. the router has a status page that gives me all those values.

Do you need the USB port for a 3G modem thou?

I know IS uses those modems for the uncapped failover connections. So if there is a problem with them it will be sorted quickly.
