I dread calling or receiving a call from a CellC number , you either end up with Voice Mail, a Dropped Call or Terrible Sound Quality

Same experience.

Never had any problems with Cell C -no dropped calls, nothing. (In fact, I was out in the middle of nowhere, literally, and I was the only one with a working signal. No vodacom, no telkom, no mtn.)
So...not everyone has crap with Cell C, is what I'm trying to say, I guess. :o

Maybe it works there, but for sure never in cities/populated areas. Like last night I tried phoning my friend, only got static and a loud pinging noise. He lives down the road from me, in an apparent brilliantly covered area according to their maps. He had to enable/disable flight mode before anything could happen

I've had all 3, and overall Cell C is still better than the other big 2 - only had Telkom data, to be fair, but their phone deals suck anyway.

There was a period where I had a few dropped calls as well, but data connectivity has basically been non-stop since I've been with them(2 years and 2 months now), which is a lot more than I can say for the others.

So, I think I'll stay, but thanks for the warning. ;)

Just so we're clear, I don't live in the middle of nowhere, I just happened to be in the middle of nowhere...with signal. I live in the city...and Cell C works just fine here too ;) :)

I love my Cell C contract, no one seems to phone me! The peace and quiet is joyous.... :D

When mentioning Cell C, and if you are having a good or bad experience it is better to say if you are on contract or prepaid.

From my experience the people on prepaid seem to have a better overall experience.

The dreaded Cellc Voice Mail voice "Welcome to Voicemail, Why don't you leave a voicemail after the tone" Beeeeeep

So you missed the point of the OP entirely? It's when you have to call someone ON Cell C from another network.

Had a friend with Virgin Mobile, always took 2 or 3 tries to get through

EDIT: Hoener missed the point too...

But he also said:

Be that as it may, I was just pointing out that the overall experience isn't the same for everyone. :)

I've had a horrible experience with a cell c contract.

I am often unable to make calls. I only get a connection on the second or third try and often the connection is very poor. The same for data. Sometimes people complain that my phone is off and they can't get hold of me when my phone was on the entire time. I get voice mails without my phone even ringing.

I've never experienced this at all when I was with Vodacom for a decade. I've got 2 months left of this cell c contract and then I'll port away asap.

Friends and family have had similar experiences with cell C.
