I hate ITunes

Either way there is little to no chance of me organizing album covers for all the missing one's. Yes, aesthetically it looks fantastic to have them but not having them has no functional consequences...
Have to agree. Among all the priorities in my life Album art ranks lower than 99% of them.

...but...but... It's so pretty.

Adding album art with Tuneup was a simply process, so too the remove of real duplicates. For ~60Gb it took me around 5 hours including fixing tagging.

Ok can anyone help me with this issue:

I had my whole iTunes library on the SSD, so I moved it over to another HDD and pointed iTunes to that rather to save space. But now the iPad won't load anything from iTunes. It syncs but then anything new in there just doesn't appear in it. Clues, anyone?

mmmm... it's a tough one... The backup is installed to the C drive, C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

So you can move all your mp3's, videos and photo's off to another drive but when you connect the iDevice it's going to backup to the C drive. There is a way to redirect by creating a NTFS junction point so your backups can be saved to the destination drive of your choice.

EDIT: I'm actually in a similar predicament to you. I tried the junction point route and it didn't work too well for me. I decided to rather forfeit 10gb's of hardrive space than wrestle with a solution.

Mac or Windows?

Windows 7. I'll try looking at the backup file thanks sandmann.

Most tutorials on moving your iTunes library always tell you to first "consolidate files" within iTunes preferences.

Not sure if that would help you though.

this is really getting on my last nerve. Think I'm just going to have to do a restore. Ugh!

Your old iPad backups must be there somewhere. They in a hidden folder so you will need to show hidden folders. Did you move the backups from C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to your ssd?

Changing paths is a bish with itunes. Had to just leave mine on the laptop and left movies on ext hdd to create space on the laptop.

Hm no I didn't, where should I place the backups and how do I point iTunes to them? I moved everything else correctly and consolidated it all though.

When you connect your iPad to your pc right click it in backup and select the restore from backup option. If your backups are in the right place there should be a date and time of the last backup with an option to restore it...

Your backups are located here by default... C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup... AppData is a hidden folder so you need to show hidden folders in tools>folder options>view>hidden files and folders....

Ok just restored it, manually found all my apps and it seems to be working now. Thanks.
