I hate my iPhone 12 Pro

Jokes aside, the fact of the matter is that the iPhone 12 screens are all yellow. 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max. All the same problem. Some worse than others. Nothing unique to me and my 12 Pro. It really sucks that a ‘Pro’ device has yellow whites, and a worse screen than the first iteration three years prior. It puts everything out. Some say it’s the Dolby Vision standard. Some say it’s just the way things are with most phones on the market these days. Who even knows if the engineers have decided to filter out blue light to help our eyes/brains. Wish I had never put my X and 12 Pro side by side.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't gained more traction considering all iPhone 12 screens are yellow!

There is a known issue with the iPhone 12 range that causes a greenish hue. Apple has said they'll address this with a software update in the future.

Mine isn't
Are you sure?

...In large part this is because the 12 Pro’s white point is still very yellow (though a bit less so than the 11 Pro Max’s), which affects color rendering and fidelity across the board...

...As for the drawbacks, like the other iPhones we’ve tested for display (namely the 12 Pro and the 11 Pro Max), the color cast of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is strongly yellow — something that can be seen in all tested conditions and in video as well as still imagery — and this impacted the score...

Because it seems you would have a rare and unique model?

Or your eyes just can't notice it (lucky you!). :)

Thank you. Please could you link that for me?

Already done. Still yellow. Please see description of pics in the OP.
Maybe you bought the iPhone 12 Pro (with yellow tinge display)

Unfortunately I had no choice in the matter, nor would anyone else have either. Please refer to the conclusion in post #25.

I’ll gladly take it off your hands if you’re unhappy. Stock shortage is killing me

Thank you, but that's not the model-wide issue in question, which is raised by many in the comments section. Of course, those less perceptive than others won't see an issue. But it's there. On every iPhone 12-range model.

Must be me then, unlikely for the rest... or maybe it's because mine is an import... don't know

Is it not maybe a feature ?

I know typically in the past when Apple did something wrong, it was named a 'feature' and Apple thought of it first

300 phones account for what % of their total sold? it could be isolated to displays made by a particular manufacturer

if it was as widespread as thought, it'd be bigger news on tech media, don't you guys agree?

The one YouTuber who is brilliant at covering display quality and calibration thoroughly is Erica Griffin, and she has done a pretty comprehensive review of the 12 and 12 Pro Displays, and she mentions that the 12/12Pro displays are a little warmer versus the cooler white of the iPhone X, she does a nice deep dive into the RGB levels of all 3 (12, 12 Pro and X), she also mentions that the 12 and 12 Pro displays are showing similar behaviour to more recent Samsung Galaxy devices so cooler whites in Displays seem to be less of a thing in the industry these days:

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't Samsung making the displays for the iPhones?
