Im sure a post like this has appeared many MANY times on these forums, and im wasting everyones time by posting this, but im sorry,... just needed to vent.
Im going into the 5th week of my ADSL application. Almost all of which is "waiting for a port to be assigned". Ive called every day, and every day the operator says "sorry sir, i can forward this message to X, please call in 48 hours". Needless to say, when i call back i get "sorry sir, we are waiting for a port to be assigned, ill forward this to X, please call back in 48 hours".

Nobody can tell me anything. No dates can be set. Nobody is accountable, i cant chat to a manager or escalate this. Its just a down right mess, and im stuck with it.

BITE ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Go to your alternatives... Sentech, MyWireless, 3G, iBurst.. if you need ADSL then you need to wait... I know it sucks, but nothing we can do about it. We have tried for howmany years and not much has happened.
 
You are only in your 5th week, prepare for the worst, some of us wait 6 months for Telkom to have a port "open". And then it still takes a technician a few weeks to find your house... Good luck on the wait.

I made one of the people in their call centre cry by asking to talk to their manager, I was not "allowed" to talk to the manager because he was "upstairs".
