I have 1010 spam emails in gmail!

Just browsing and just saw now I have 1010 spam emails that gmail blocked. I'm glad gmail blocked them, but why would I get so many? It mean all of them got my email address, and what else could they gathered about me!

Why is this, and is there something I can do to reduce this?

Check these:
Amount of messages: 4054

Amount Un-read: 3778

Which means I have read 300 and the rest are spam!

I get around that 800 to 1100 spam mails. Nothing to really worry about.

If it were your ISP email then yes big problem.
In future when you sign up with sites use sneakemail.com, you'll have more chance figuring out who's selling your info.

Another thing if you have your mailto:email on a webpage then you will get spammed.

Favourite spammers are those epostcard companies.

Ive made gmail my primary account.. I have about 20 email accounts that deliver email into it.. hence the high spam...

Spam: ~10 per month maximum
Trash: 404 mostly from "EDS Support" - had to filter an auto-delete for these - you know who you are, stop spamming me with unsolicited verification messages!!!

Hardly any mailing lists, why is that a lot of emails - I have had my GMail a/c for quite a while...

So have I... since like.. early days. You dont recon 100k emails is a lot? How many is that a day?

Just a few per day...would be a lot more than that if I had all my emails [i.e. from my previous email a/c] in my GMail a/c.

@w1z4rd, BTW All Mail only shows the number of conversations and not the actual number of emails which will be much higher.
