i can remember everything but all this use to be fine until last year december when this started to happen.
SOmetimes i noticed that bios just suddenly loaded default settings ,maybe th e root is a cmos battery but i doubt it.
this problem only occurs when the mains are turned off due to eskom or by myself.
I would start by checking/replacing the cheapest component - the CMOS battery. If still persists, re-flash the BIOS (with the same BIOS version you currently have), set everything to default, reboot, go back into BIOS, then set manually. If you have an AGP GPU card, set it in the BIOS - if an onboard GPU card, set it accordingly.
I had some major issues a few months back, and decided not to re-install the OS, but instead, uninstalled ALL my hardware drivers, then re-installed them from scratch - really helped.
Check your motherboard drivers and reinstall if needed.
If you have a spare blank HDD, unplug all other drives and install OS from scratch, with the GPU drivers and see if this helps.
If all this fails, then start looking at PSU / GPU / Motherboard, etc... 300w does seem a bit low, and I would recommend a 450w or higher -- I know it's not the best make, but I have two 450w aOpen PSU's that were fairly inexpensive, and have not let me down yet...very reliable and decent power.
With all the Eskom spikes and cuts, you MUST get yourself a UPS - I would rather shell out R150 to replace a UPS battery every 3rd month, than have to keep replacing expensive PC components...
If you suspect the motherboard is the problem, then take it through to Rectron, where they can test it and replace immediately if still under the 3-year warranty.
Identifying the problem by trial and error should be done with the least cost in my opinion...
