I Have A VIRUS! - Help!

Run Hijackthis and look for any unusual /unusually named processes loading at startup.

Run Malwarebytes ( first update it )

Between those 2 there's very little that can't be dealt with.

Only if they are both negative would I begin to consider a wipe and reload.

If you are going to do a reinstall, try as best as possible to copy the files you need most to a secure drive. IE a smaller flash drive. Then do a backup onto an external. THat will save you if the backup becomes corrupt due to the virus "living" within the rest of your files. also try and do a virus scan on the backups using a friends PC, that you are sure is secure.... Just wanted to thank everyone for their help! I really appreciate it!

Someone asked for the link. Please dont click it! Here it is anyway - http ://Check- This- Out-Now. info/ I included spaces so that the link can't work.

Dont click it just in case!

good that its working out for you. recomended AV? AVG and threatfire work well together and ZoneAlarm is the best firewall. and swap you IE for Firefox or Chrome or Opera, IE is a security risk.

dude, if the virus installed itself, there are a few things u can do, check out and see if the virus is on a auto-stratup on your system and u can remove it if u can locate the file and the processs, if not, boot into safe mode and try from there

I'd suggest you remove the link to the virus from your post bru ...... there will be someone who clicks on it.

I clicked on it...lets see how it infects and I'll tell u how to fix it.

Now that I think about it, I clicked on those dodgy links everyday...and nothing shows up.

This time...is the same as before...pc is fine, processes are the same, nod32 didnt say nothing.

You sure its the link?

Like the people said boot up in safe mode and then if u can get NOD32 v4.0 scan pc in safe mode.will delete files on the dot without quarintine.had same problem with my brother's pc and it worked like a charm

@ Mephisto - Yeah I ended up adding spaces just in case someone did.
@Nameite, Conradl & Kelevra - Thanks for doing so! I appreciate it! Hope your PC's are fine.

Just thought I'd update. I ran Malware bytes & it picked up some Win32 C Trojan. I managed to delete it, then just rolled back to an earlier restore point. Ran a scan again & everythings fine.

I had run a scan yesterday morning before my GF got on MSN. I think she may have picked up the Virus elsewhere. Her online friends are insisting the links a virus, as they get offlines from ppl on their list repeatedly to go to that site.

@schitzo glad that everythings ok. but you should install a firewall to prevent the infection. I seggest ZoneAlarm
