Either HTC has not yet made up their mind or the units were pre-production will ill defined specs, or even the dumb ass that wrote the review.

Some sites offer great service and content while others merely copy content and are happy to be traffic / click / Google whores.

Have you received one for testing at Vodacom as yet ?

It only appears in the spec sheet, the site only talks about UMTS , which i believe technically covers HSDPA ?

Yes, '3G', HSDPA and HSUPA is all part of the UMTS spec.

Why would they say HSDPA-Enabled, and not just HSDPA?

As if it can be HSDPA but is not. They're not saying 'EDGE-Enabled', for example.

Might be that they'll launch with 384 and later do a software upgrade to HSDPA?

Even with 'just' 3G, I'll take it!

Yea i wondered about that bit too, sounded a bit suspicious. My initial thought was that it might related to the lack of availability [or end-user knowledge] of HSDPA in the world. I always get the impression [especially when talking to USA people] that they are far behind ZA regarding the rollout of this sort of tech [or rather user take-up and awareness of it].

Just looking at the American version of the HTC site , i got the impression they might only be just starting to get into the 3G mode [nevermind HSDPA].

PS: The american version is quite an annoying site, you can't browse the product line per phone at all! You need to browse per carrier [Cingular/Verizon etc] and then from there get to THEIR version of the phone...

I read yesterday that HP may be dropping their line of PDAs, so be wary of going that way.

Me? I'm happy with my K-JAM (overclocked to 240) - battery lasts as much as 3 days if I'm not using Skype or MSN... and oh so configurable. I love the form factor, the full keyboard... and bear in mind that the OMAP 200MHz runs the same speed as previous TI chips ran at 400MHz.

That sounds like HP, if they can't win they willdrop it like a hot patat.

So the K-Jam form factor with some new bits shoehorned under the bonnet should be good for the Jas-Jam ........ when it appears.

Are there any other similar devices on your radar at present ?

Well HTC Sales on the other hand, are skyrocketing. So i'd say it's a safe bet going for an HTC related device [even if it's rebranded ].
