I might defect from BB...

Drains my battery because it keeps the phone online all the time (the Nokia version anyway, not sure about the others). Even when I have closed the app it keeps the phone online and offers no way to disconnect from the internet. Even if Whatsapp is closed (exited, not just hidden) and I manually disconnect the internet, it just reconnects me again in the background. The only way to stop this is to uninstall whatsapp. This is the only real flaw, but I had to uninstall it because my battery kept dying.

I am not having an issue with battery drain on an android device.

Same. But that's because android basically already always online, so the batteries suck with or without whatsapp.

OK...just installed WhatsApp to see what its like. But how do I know that someone on my list is actually also using WhatzApp? I dont want to send a message and then it actually charges me for a SMS!!!!!!

Also, can you do display pics on WhatsApp?

If you install whatsapp, it will list all your friends with the app installed.

Whatsapp can send pics, music, docs, videos and more between users.

If they're on your list in whatsapp, they are running whatsapp...

Wish I could show you how well it works on a powerful phone, like the HTC Desire HD or any of the new 1Ghz CPU phones.

It really is the sms & mms replacement system of the future. I doubt if people will still be using sms & mms in a year's time.

What's app messenger

Agreed & its a great app for both platforms/OS'

but then the current bbm users will have to install that... ie. have two chat programs running :erm:

My missus and a few friends are on Whatsapp. And it was a mate on BB who recommended it to me. Surely it's not that big a deal

Mine has got two tabs listing contacts. Favs and All. The ones in All I can message. When I click on my moms number for example it just displays her number, but I cant send a message. All the contacts under Favs I can message...so that solves my question I guess. I think the WhatsApp for BB maybe looks and works a bit differently to Iphone and Android.

Ja ja ja Kingrob...WHATEVA SISTA! hehehehe.

I had a wet dream over that 3D LG Android fone! Damn I wantz it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

Half? :wtf:
anyway all you do is you go to settings and update your phonebook.

Well, not half but at least 6 people I know that don't have it installed anymore. The refresh/update does not work, the users still display even though they have uninstalled it...

Agreed there. I mostly use gtalk for chatting on my desire because it's logged on gmail and when I go to a pc I can use the keyboard etc. I use whatsapp for sending pics etc though, and sometimes when gtalk isn't working on gf's bb.

mmmm not sure how reliable whatsapp is. Some of the people that I send a message to only gets one tick...wich means the message not delivered to them?

It means your friends are ignoring you.

tsek jou biets! :-)

Perhaps it just means that they dont have whatsapp running or signed out? The one friend is using a BB and the other one a Iphone. Those as far as I understand you can sign out and disconnect..wheras the Nokia's you cant so you will always be online with a Nokia.

ok, installed whatsapp on my phone and the favs list was rather long... didnt know so many ppl were using this app!

gonna install on the SO's phone and test it for a week or so to see how it works (or if its reliable)

meanwhile I read millions of reviews...... :)
