how is this cutting power usage, its 2kWIf budget is tight, you will spend more on power with these cheap heaters.
Get an electric blanket and get under the covers.
If you really must, spend the extra upfront and get an infrared heater to cut the power usage down a bit...

The secret is that IR 2kW is so hectic that after 5 mins you turn it down to 500W where with a 2kW oil heater, that stays 2kW forever because you still cold.how is this cutting power usage, its 2kW
That's at the max setting, which will be too hot for most rooms.how is this cutting power usage, its 2kW
Rule no. 1: Don't judge. So you want to be the sole reason why we're back on loadshedding ... seriously dude, get a blanket![]()
Save it for loadshitting and get yourself the 800W IR quartz heater.I'm feeling cold this winter. I haven't used a heater in past years, but recently got myself this gas heater, https://stargas.co.za/product/cadac-3-panel-heater/ it uses a 9kg bottle which should last for about 90 hours on the lowest heat setting. I've used it sparingly for 3 weeks now and I'm still on the first 9kg gas bottle.
Electric blanket ftw , best optionElectric blanket is 60watts, the end, if it's really cold gas heater, it is cheaper that electricity..........but on a tight budget electric blanket or water bottle can help a lot.....
These are words from someone that has never experienced an IR heater before which even works on the porch in an 80km/h south easter. If you keep the room doors closed, a panel heater also works. At 550W for some models they're quite effective.
I have tried it in store and wanted to get one, problem is I always thought it only heats line of sight and not the room. That's at the max setting, which will be too hot for most rooms.
At half power it's more than hot enough to be felt across a large living room. If you haven't tried an infrared heater, go test one at a store. It's nowhere near as inefficient as conventional heaters...
I agree, but so difficult getting out of bed in the morning.Electric blanket ftw , best option
It is "line of sight" Even works through the glass of the french doors.I have tried it in store and wanted to get one, problem is I always thought it only heats line of sight and not the room.
Maybe I should look into it again and decide if it could meet my needs.
It doesn't heat the room, it heats the stuff in the room, including you, which is what you want. Adjust it to face you.I have tried it in store and wanted to get one, problem is I always thought it only heats line of sight and not the room.
