I'm really tired of my current one. My place here hasn't been permament and there is a chance that in the future that I could not be employed at this company anymore. I'm currently involved in business I.T. I studied programming, but the only language I really would want to get into would be Oracle. What else could I do? Kinda feeling a little stressed about it. I would want to leave as soon as I can.

I also want a new job, but I will stay put in my current company for now because of this economic climate that we are in. People are losing jobs and getting retrenched and I feel I am lucky enough to still have a job.....

I hope that your current boss isn't reading this.
I've asked that question a million times in the last 6 months. I'll compile the papers in my drawer and send it to you. That should help you answer your question

I just left my current job, currently working through my resignation period. I think in the IT industry we are very lucky as 99% of companies need IT specialists to keep there company running. I mean what is a company without an exchange server? Mercurial with a language like oracle behind you I very much doubt you will have a problem finding work. Try Insource ICT they are excellent at placing people in the IT field they placed me in my current position and in my new position as well [IT Manager Wo0T]

Speaking of shirts: why are peeps so obsessed with the handing out / receiving of shirts at launches/functions/workshops ???

Oh, and these are not the really poor people who truely need new shirts.

its seems you have been to a few anc gatherings lately?

I have had varsity buddies calling me up telling me that they need developers/analysts at their firms. All the offers seem pretty good, but I am not too keen right now. My company is pretty nice, for now I am good right here.

O/T Oracle is a languange??

I would rather walk barefoot over hot coals.

According to Mythbusters that's actually not hazardous at all. If you walk normally at a normal pace your feet won't dig in that much and the ash on top of the coals actually protects your feet from the heat.

So you're saying I am not strong enough in my resolve to stay away from political meetings? :)

The problem with Oracle is very few companies can afford it. We use PostgreSQL and MySQL as a result. But becoming a SQL administrator is rather cool.

um... Oracle isn't a language, it's a database.
