I plan to get into the field of AI & using it to make automations like a AI receptionist for companies or to maybe use AI to create websites however as a beginner I don't have an idea of how to go about it & need a 1 on 1 mentor who would be willing to help me just till I can get the hang of it

Unfortunately I don't have money for courses at the moment as I am struggling financially so I would really appreciate if someone could help me free of charge

AI Overview

You can learn AI automation and website building for free using visual no-code platforms and free tier tools, though dedicated 1-on-1 human mentorship is rare to find for free outside of community forums or open-source Discord/Reddit groups. [1, 2, 3]

Step-by-Step Road Map for Beginners
  • Learn the Core Automation Stack: Start with visual workflow tools that connect apps together without heavy coding. Look into n8n (which has a generous free/self-hosted option), Make.com, or Zapier to understand triggers (e.g., a form submission or incoming email) and actions. [1, 2]
  • Build AI Receptionists and Voice Agents: Use specialized no-code or low-code conversation tools.
    • For chat and web widgets, explore platforms like HighLevel or Tidio.
    • For voice/phone receptionists, look at tools like Vapi combined with speech-to-text/text-to-speech services.
    • Train them using a clean knowledge base containing business hours, pricing, FAQs, and explicit rules on when to hand off to a human. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Build Websites with AI: Use AI-assisted website builders or layout tools like Replo or modern WordPress builders paired with AI content and workflow helpers. [1, 2]
  • Leverage Free AI Models for Learning: Use free tiers of ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini as your "24/7 personal tutor"—you can literally prompt them: "I am a complete beginner trying to learn [n8n / Vapi / Make]. Act as an expert automation engineer and mentor me step-by-step through building X." [1]

Where to Find Free Communities & Guidance
Instead of a private paid mentor, you can get free peer-to-peer help and feedback in public communities:
  • Reddit: Communities like r/NEMO, r/automation, or r/ArtificialIntelligence where people share free walkthroughs.
  • YouTube Tutorials: Search for up-to-date 2026 build-along guides for tools like Make.com, n8n, and Vapi.
  • Open-Source / Community Discords: Many no-code and AI tool creators run active Discord servers where beginners ask questions and get answered by community members for free. [1, 2, 3]

Prompt Cowboy helps you transform rough ideas into clear, high-performing prompts for ... Your cheat code to AI that just works.

Another way, is to prompt your chosen AI to ask you refining / defining questions

I've seen these apps before, but why don't AI just integrate this feature or can't you just ask any Ai to do this before they actually answer the question?

Let me guess…

You are a spammer advertising your service.

I just tried this now and it makes the poor AI that you use the expanded prompt on to work like a bastard, very nice though.
I'm assuming that the expanded prompt will probably mean your AI uses more resources/tokens to complete the task?

I love how everyone always thinks the people at the top got there by doing courses and that not being able to do that is the barrier to entry.

The barrier to entry is not being able to help yourself and expecting someone to do it for you.

Learn by doing.
Nothing wrong with courses or that approach. I learn best by doing, but I know others who made a success from doing courses and knowledge first.

Not saying there’s anything wrong with it existing, I’m saying there’s something wrong with that being your limitation.

Especially in a world where YouTube and things like Medium exist for free.

And even like you said there are other ways to procure such things too.

Saying I don’t have money for courses just tells me you want someone else to do the work and spoon feed you.
