I want:

I doubt this will get implemented as a priority. pppoeconf is too easy to use from the commandline. Maybe if I feel up to it, I'll write a quick and dirty frontend for you

No its okay it is just I keep breaking my network when I use my pppoe since my router is still in router. So every time I shut down the pppoe connection my network breaks. but its cool. And this would be a nice to have because if u search around u would see a lot of people struggles with the pppoe thing.

Isn't there something like this in 8.10, I have been using xubuntu 8.10 for a bit and I configured my LAN and PPPoE through a GUI, the network connections icon at the top right of the screen lets you do this.

What do you mean each time you kill the pppoe your network breaks? Mine works fine...
There is a GUI available for using PPPOE. Apart from a couple of PPPOE programs, you can also you your network manager. It should have a Dial-up section for PPPOE.
