iBurst better without aerial?

I was thinking of connecting my aerial again, on one of those long poles, but was wondering about lightning...?

You can cover it in some kind of heavy duty plastic. The plastic itself should not influence your signal. Just don't use tinfoil! ;-)

I've had the same with USB extensions that are too thin to handle the current the device is drawing.

Same rules as your TV antenna just earth it properly or stand next to it with a longer pole during lightning storms...
 
I've been told that placing your modem in a allimenium pot can also help (pot over modem or modem into pot? havn't tried it myself so can't vouch). Sounds weird I know but same guy told me that when gate/car remotes don't want to work you should press it against your head and try again, I know that works...

Im also not allowed to attached anything to my complex walls / roof... so I made up a little hook/clamp that attaches my panel antenna to a window... Can't fully close the window atm. but easy on easy off and there is nothing in the the lease contract about "window decorations", hehe.

LOL... neighbors look at me weird when I stand on the roof with my head planted on the antenna
 
Well, I got a poynting high gain antenna today and if I am correct, the pigtail from the omni will fit, so I will be testing to see if it helps. Now I just need someone to mount the damn thing, as I am not a handy man dude. ;)

And what is up with speedtest? Did a ping test as well, same results for both...

Check the ping on the speed test. That doesn't look right.

I have given up on playing online. I almost killed my T260 because of lag last night. Now I play against the stoopid bots. Better than nothing.

If you do a packet capture on speedtest.net, they aren't really doing a ping test but a measurement of an http get which is always slower than a ping. But yes that does look slow.
