iBurst cuts prices

hmm think user will just migrate to their closest priced package....which means double the usage and R50 cheaper for me :D

Does it mean that I have to get iBurst Pro, Xtreme or Addict to get the 64k after cap? Then, if so yippie I'll be saving R30. Cos I do 5 to 6 GB pm on the 1500MB Pro packager @ R479.

I doubt they would move you to the 1Gb hardcapped service as the price is far less than you used to pay and you are signed up for a soft cap so they couldn't just tkae it away without informing you.

Maybe 3GB isn't bad but maybe I should be retaining my old package at a reduced price of say R250?

This would be more exciting if I haven't already applied for the phoneline & ADSL/Mweb special. R449 for 3GB is a great price.

Is it just me or have iBurst gone and made this press release without updating their price/packages page on the website?

According to it I'm still paying R529...

Aaaah... classic iBurst - make sure to misinform and generally confuse everything whenever possible.

Kudos on the price changes tho, it's about time! It sucks watching everyone elses prices decrease and yours staying the same - Hopefully we'll see another one before next year... or decade...

The new prices are for April, they will update it then. It's normal for companies to announce new prices before actually implementing them afaik.

The quality of their service in Durbs has decreased so much in the past few months that I am lucky if I get over 100kbps download. I am gatvol and moving over to HSDPA - even if the latter is only operating at 50% is it still much better than iBurst. May have gone Neotel if they actually had something to offer, but I cannot wait any longer.

I just hope Vodacom and MTN follow suit with these prices. I would love to pay R200 for 1GB on 3G!

+1

I'd love to pay LESS than 449 for 3Gigs on HSDPA, come along Vodacom, time to droppem!

at 300kb/s max, who cares? once you go 4mb, u never go back..

Ja, iBurst can only do 300kbps, its been proven.

I'm actually irritated with my 4Mb line when I do anything with 1 thread, it gets stuck at 50Kb on rapidsahre downloads for example whereas iBurst could do 100Kb+ off that single thread.

Multi-threading is nice though. :)

So on G9 am I correct in saying you just get an extra 500MB?

EDIT: Ok it's a R100 less and 500MB extra.

Hey, all you guys who are so negative, don't forget the FreeFlo option which will become available.
The low end of the market will be served with iBurst’s FreeFlo service allowing for 10 MB of usage per month at no cost.
At 10MB I can flow freely for how many minutes?

I guess it's that time of the year when Broadband providers start a price war.

It's always good to see one ISP taking a bold step to show others that they can drop their prices and I hope and pray that V3G will follow suite
Not much of a bold step by iBurst.
