iBurst cuts prices

R200 per month for 1 GB, seems they want to compete with the Do packages.
Correct. And their low-end pricing became uncompetitive when compared to the mobile providers. Some of the price cuts they have announced is quite significant – a better comparison to follow later…

R449 for the 3GB softcap isn't bad.

So what happens to the extra 500MB users used to have, does that still count above these new allowances?

Also will the 1.5GB softcapped option fall away, and what happens to users on those packages?

WOW! Think about it, for the 1GB package with Telkom (incl telephone line) it's R300 and now iBurst offer this which is the same price but you don't need the phone line. Saving of over R100 each month = more GB's.

AND you get throttled and not capped like you do on Telkom. And not to mention the speed is faster on iBurst.

A step in the right direction for sure.

Someone should tell them it's leap year, their calendars are out of date, April fool's is only on the 1st of April

oh and paying R400+ for a 3 gig extra on your package is ludicrous when you think that they pay significantly less for their upstream providers...

a small step in the right direction iboobs.

That has always been a sort of "in joke". :p Just dont buy extra bandwidth on iBurst. I can't believe they didn't cut those prices though.

Would have been happier if they kept their high prices and just fixed their rubbish network and unreliable service!
Nice try…

I guess it's that time of the year when Broadband providers start a price war.

It's always good to see one ISP taking a bold step to show others that they can drop their prices and I hope and pray that V3G will follow suite
