On Wednesday I experienced repeated disconnects and called to be told they were doing upgrades, later when speaking with one of their fully trained customer services staff I was told the problem is with me, mtu settings, create a new connection etc. Called several other times, Thursday & Friday to ask if there is anything wrong with the network and told it is fine.

Saturday, call to open a ticket and told, yes customers who connect to several towers in the East rand area are experiencing the same problem as me, guy puts me on hold for 2 mins to call network support and he comes back to reconfirm my problem, get a ticket logged.

Now, its taken three days to get this out of them, who knows how long for them to actually fix the problem.

Playing WoW for 15 - 20 mins at a time is hugely irritating, getting dc'd mid fight. Additionally there is high latency on the network (1500+) when trying to play.

WOW, 15 to 20 minutes at a time. You are spoilt. I'm lucky to get 5.
This is typical of i-burst though.

WOW... he actually called technical support... and GOT BACK to you....

My sister in law IS STILL WAITING for them to get back to her about disconnects for over 3 months now. Has phoned them MANY times inbetween and was told...

1. Technical is on another floor, cannot get hold of them
2. The lifts do not work... so cannot get to the other floor where Tech is
3. Yes, they do have stairs at the iBust building
4. Yes, HE could get off his chair and try the stairs....
5. NO, there IS no problem, move your modem
6. Try connecting via USB in Vista

Heheheheh

ADSL has arrived a day before they admit there has been a problem. Sigh. iBust... too little to late. I wonder if they will update their website.

My SIL is flying on ADSL though. She even sounds relaxed and unstressed.:p

Also been having issues with my iBurst this weekend. Kept getting request timeouts and you cannot play WoW if that happens. What is interesting though is that my best reception comes from the Forest Hill tower even though I am based in Greenstone Hill.

Iburst has been down here since early this morning, I had to switch to my E220, to get back on line….sucks big time. Must tell you that iburst is faster than my e220 and I’m getting a hsdpa signal?

By the sound of it - the problem seam to be in the south eastern part of JHB.

/me throws the bones

iBurst can get it sorted out with the skills they have and since it's not a South African product, where do they look to for help

sorry guys dont come to Soweto, I'm having fun here with struBi

Always good to have a ref number so that you can poke it through their @rses.

I phoned iBurst yesterday and they said they have major problems on the Eastern side of Johannesburg , suburbs Kempton Park, Linksfield, Bedfordview AND surrounding areas - since 2 Sep 2008. They said spare parts were on the way from Japan and should be installed this weekend (13 or 14th Sep)

The symptoms are constantly getting disconnected.

The problem is that it's not just kempton park people, I'm in alberton and it is also effecting me. Seriously, how can it take over a week to sort out a network issue? They are seriously impacting my wow time!

I would recommend you use Hellopeter.com
and get as much people who are experience the problem as you as back-up, back in the days when I use to be on iBURST, their was like a time frame, every 2hours 2minutes the they would d/c u from their network.

Is the disconnects problem still ongoing guys?

Seems to be the case.

Our support department have issues in logging to remote sites via iburst (office uses adsl, remote sites uses iburps)...

...going to take a shufty at neotel/wimax coverage, and if it's good, then I'm going to suggest iburps be ditched....

Excellent, thanks for the info :)

Yip I've given up with that one. I am reasonably sure it's because of their IP level blocking they're using now to attack p2p at a more extreme level.
