Unfortunately I'd say all 3 of those options describe iburst.

Always down is the less common of the 3 though the service is full of horrid timeout-demons which pretty much count as it being down considering you can't access anywhere when they occur.

Iburst's traffic is also shaped to death. Stay away from Iburst, what ever you do, just stay away

i can't say that i believe this statement. Using iburst at work for a group of people to access some external financial stuff, actually works well. i guess strange things happen :p

Not a telkom fan but to be honest the fact they give ppl with 3 gig caps 6 gigs ie 3 gigs free (not really free but ye) if they had 1333 subscribers of the 3 gig service they would be giving away more than 4 terabytes so i think iburst is lying when they say this :

“No other South African broadband operator can claim to have given away 500 megabytes of data per subscriber to almost one fifth of its subscriber base. This is about showing our commitment to the customer in a tangible way,” said Thami Mtshali, CEO of iBurst.

wish all the operators would stop trying marketing tactics to make themselves look good and actually improve their service, word of mouth about a good service goes allot futher than a few free megs.
