Iburst I LOVE IT!!!

If you see that pic. He is not connected and yet his download speed it 1015? Even after his cap? Hmm...

But on the PPU note - OUCH! So by dafault as an old iBurst subscriber, i'm not on PPU?

I never used that dashboard thingy, but I'm assuming the point is that he was left uncapped after being capped so 1015kb makes sense.

You won't be on PPU btw.

I too have been having sleepless nights, Ive been on iBurst for about 2 years, so does that mean im not on this PPU crap?

I've gone over my limit by quite a lot this month and really don't want a ludicrous bill heading my way.

Well if it is a fake, and a fake story of a guy who just wants Iburst to get some publicity you @$@#.

However if its true, then good luck paying that bill off, I hear they pay a lot for ........ fill in yourself

Kinda ironic that if it is a fake, he did quite the opposite of advertising and just showed how much Iburst can REALLY screw you over

This is getting scarier by the minute...

the customer must be able to insists on, and get a hardcap on his/her account to safeguard against a huge bill.

This also refer to vodacom/mtn's 3g services where there's no hardcap at present - and you'll have to use PPDB's to protect yourself...

You can get a hard cap, just not by default, you have to ask for it.

you can request to get throttled from what i understand.

Who could love these people?

I have just been screwed over by Ibust.

I signed up for a 24 month contract on the Giga package, which means no once-off hardware/installation costs.

*BAM*

Whopper amount of R2480.70 gets deducted from my account, hardware costs.

I've already complained at hellopeter.com because their accounts department will only start again tomorrow at 8 AM.

Now I understand why there are sites like Hellburst. iBurst has an excellent technical product, but their accounting/administration/paperwork at head office just plain does not cut it.

Unless they SERIOUSLY make me very happy in the next few days, I am cancelling my 24 month contract with them, citing breach of contract on their part.

took me 6 months to get money back from iburst.

their accounting department sucks!

My advice is that you get your bank to reverse the debit order, as well as attempt to block future debit orders from iBurst SA, and then cancel your contract with iBurst SA, and since iBurst SA has your bank account details, consider closing that bank account - yes iBurst SA is that bad.

Next time use a reseller. You pay the same and get extras like no PPU (MWEB doesn't offer this service, even now), 2GB mailbox and no-one screws up your billing. Oh and buy
the modem and go month 2 month.

You're not serious are you???

I really hope it doesn't come to that...

By the way, I didn't know it's possible that a bank can reverse a debit order... anyone had any success with this before?

I could really kick myself for not perusing hellopeter.com before hand... their PR is just so good you know.

Internet in 48 hours
Free Delivery
No Hardware Costs

It all sounded so good... but now it's too good to be true :(

What a nightmare this has turned into...

You know what, I never thought there would be a company out there that made Telkom look good!

Deadly serious, and yes banks can reverse debit orders, but there is a time limit - it used to be something like 21 days, not sure what it is now, also you need to provide the bank with proof that you have been in contact with iBurst SA and tried to resolve the matter with iBurst SA - a printout of email communications between yourself and iBurst SA might suffice, otherwise an affidavit might do the trick, call your bank to find out what they require from you, then go in to a branch and have it done.

Thank you very much for the advice, I greatly appreciate it...

I will be on the phone with iBurst and the banks from Monday, to see what I can get sorted. If I don't come right, I WILL go to the police to lay a charge of theft.

Really hope it doesn't take 6 months to get the money back, as there is now kinda just R50 in my account for the rest of the month :(

Seriously, after all this is done, I'm getting an ADSL line from Telkom... will cost me R14 more than my current phone/internet solution.

Who ever knew that Telkom would be more reliable than iBurst... ESPECIALLY in the accounting department.

This doesn't even seem to shock me. Their accounting department aren't even considered criminals, they simply just stupid individuals that can't add 2 + 2 together.

Dude, I had lawyers involved when they deducted money off my account. After 2 years with being with them they surprisingly decided to charge me for a new modem... They were convinced that I walked in myself, and ordered a new modem and told them to put it onto my debit order. F%$# idiots even kept on insisting, even though my old UTD ID was assigned to my current username and was still in use.

Hope you sort your issues out with them. And yes you have 7 days to reverse the order - I don't think public holidays count - only working days. So sort it out first thing Monday morning. And I suggest you go there yourself to sort it out, don't waste your time over the phone.

Make sure you make a scene ;)

It just gets better doesn't it.

Tiny3001, drop me a PM with regards your problem with iBurst. Am compiling a dossier of what WBS are doing to their clients and this would fit in perfectly.

I just realised something

So I spoke to iBurst today regarding getting my money back.

Apparently, a credit note has been issued and the money will be back in my account in 7 days.

But think about this quickly guys.

If they do this to a 1000 clients (1000 clients x R2500 = R2 500 000), and they invest that money during that "7 day policy" of theirs... can you guys imagine how much money they must be making?

And quite honestly, I think the "1000" clients figure is also quite modest.

I'm currently sending a HUGE account of everything that happened to RVFmal. If anyone else is interested in hearing my story, let me know, I'll put it up anywhere!
