iBurst price reductions - How much will subscribers save

wow! i can get some pizza and a coke now

Still Think it's over-priced for the ammount of usage you get....

Giga 1200 369.00 1000 199.00 35%

The decreased the usage amount? How strange.

R80 for 100MB is a joke, here is cybersmart's topup prices for a 1MB line (which iburst claims to be.. hahaha)

3 Gigs on a 1024/256 Kbs ADSL Circuit R 249

which comes to about R8.30 per 100MB...

Nope, the article (original one) still mentions the 64kb after cap speed for higher usage accounts.

A 3GiB top up on iBust is R499.00.
This is after you've paid the monthly subscription which covers the cost of the equipment and network service.
That's R166 per GiB vs R65-R70 per GiB from other ISPs.
Thanks but no thanks iBust - I'd rather take my chances with a Telscum ADSL line.

The top up prices was the straw that broke the camel's back for me and saw me move over to ADSL. I actually have to thank iBurst for that. My costs for doing 30-35GB of data reduced dramatically from the G9 cost.

I am on the 1.5G package with throttled connection after the cap at R469 per month (Pro Intro). Funny I don't see it on this list.

I assume this will be changed to the Pro package.

The R20 saving is not going to make a real difference in my life (cannot even buy a six pack with it).

The extra data allocation is also not relevant. I do more that 3 gigs with my first connect of the month in any event and never at full speed because the network falls over the beginning of every month as all people are uncapped for a couple of hours.

You get much better speeds later on in a month but then you don’t have any cap left.

iBurst should be looking at increasing the throttled speed. That will make a real difference and will surely increase their user base.

I CANT BELIEVE THIS! 4 years almost I have been with iburst and now that I am leaving the country next month they decide to lower prices :eek::mad::(

looks like my sig worked...eventually ^^

urm guys please check correctly!!!
Giga 1200 369 1000 199 35% 3.25203252 5.025125628
Surely we could sue them on false advertising???

Would anyone complain about paying R170 less at the cost of 200MB?

How are you working this out btw? Are you saying it's R5 for every MB when 1000MB costs R200?

The new pricing is definitely cheaper per MB in this case.

With some of the higher end packages it doesn't make as much sense.

my mistake I took the MB/R not R/MB

been a long day

Grumble grumble grumble...

really guys you should just be grateful and do your duty for your country.... After all, iBurst has been found to be the Most compatible for Trevor Manuel's It Initiative against Crime... (read Jackie Selebi's IT Initiative)....

That they have dropped the price at all is indicative of the push they wish to make in pulling in more suckers.....:) Just stop whining and sign up ffs...

www.pseudomyadsl.co.za. the site of the future....

wow mostly a saving of like 100 bucks and some places 200 bucks.I still cant see them on par with data bundles from voda and mtn

They've always been cheaper with anything about 2GB haven't they? Vodacome only dropped their 3GB price to the same as iBUrst's R599 this month. Now iBurst is R449.

Additional bandwidth might even be more expensive on iBurst though.

I dont see the 1.5GB Pro Intro package. Wonder if they will give their subscriber the option to choose which package they want to go onto, or will they simply change it. I will have to go read my contract fine print to see if they are actually allowed to do any such thing without my consent.

Another quite interesting observation - went on iburst website and saw their press release. The dates are for 2007, not 2008. Wonder if their accounts and sales dept only got around to reading the memo now, and thought it may be prudent to publish it. Must say, if it were implemented in 2007, it would have just been in the wake of the MTN & Vodacom cuts, so iBurst would not have appeared so retarded. Anyway, I think they have been cheating me for over 1 year now out of bandwith. Anyone interested in persuing a legal action against this (even if it were an error on their side, its time they pay for it)?

I'm paying R 1,000 to IS + R 450 to Telkom (4MB), so for R 1450 I get 30Gb unshaped at night, shaped during the day .

I'm cancelling Iburst today !
