iBurst: Ringing up new business

"iBurst: Ringing up new victims" would be a better headline.

He says network latency is low, though occasional network congestion may sometimes degrade call quality on specific base stations.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yea right.

Wonder if that figure includes the 40 000 people that canceled but continue to get billed ...

Great, now the service will be even worse for people using it what it's for with these new "services" getting priority. That's after shaping regular VoIP traffic to make it almost unusable. Tip: voice is dying, it's all IP now. Rather lower the price and increase the caps then upgrade your network to handle your existing subscribers then you will be real competition for Telkom instead of matching them point for point.

will this service have as many packet loss and errors as regular "slowbrand".

Knott-Craig accuses MTN of behaving anticompetitively....
BUT....

iBurst holding company WBS is 10% owned by Vodacom

Pretty biased statement imo
Not surprising. iBurst is one of the most anticompetitive companies not having revised their prices for years (even Telkom does this at least once a year) and only introducing even more restrictive and comparitively more expensive offers.
