iBurst ups mailbox size

Does anyone actually use their mailboxes after al their SMTP issues of the past?

if people can use @iburst.co.za/@wbs.co.za mail account and havent requested for open relay then there are thousands out there who use their SMTP, and the fact that you know they had issues

And there I was thinking I will be the first to ask if there is going to be a ZAR199 or ZAR99 admin|migration fee - obviously I'm not the only forumite that expects iBurst SA to pull such a trick.

The fact that iBurst SA actually believed that a 10MB mailbox size was a reasonable service to offer, and that it had been 10MB for about 2 years or more, shows that Mopanie worms ate their way through the brains of iBurst's management a long time ago - must be some new exec that showed iBurst SA its severe lack of grey matter...

Gmail gives you like, 7GB ;)

and lets not forget that it increases all the time!

iBurst, beat that! :D

Gmail is free which means its a no-no if you want to be taken seriously.
Gmail is more likely to be interpreted as spam.
Gmail has serious privacy issues.
Local ISP is local, you may see faster throughput, does Gmail geolocate your email locally?

7GB is nothing. You can get 250GB mailboxes for $7 per month and some
email providers even offer FREE UNLIMITED mailboxes, which is prolly more
than 7GB.

I don't actually get the whole 40mb bashing thing.

Vodacom and MTN (who most people seem to like around here) have been offering even lower data packages for ages, and at worse prices. Yet for everything iBurst does you get a page of comments about a 40mb offering. It's not like they force this on anyone or don't offer anything higher, and R50 isn't a terrible price either if you want this for some reason.

Many of the ADSL articles here are about 1GB combined packages, which are almost as useless seeing you're meant to actually use that over a month with an ADSL line, obviously not the purpose of a 40mb offering.

But tricking people who don't know any better into signing up and paying for the terrible bandwidth booster prices is a problem. :(

When last did you see a MTN or Vodacom advert for their small caps? Or any caps at all in fact?

iBurst pushes thier R49 account strongly, thus they must take the heat.

wow a whole 2gig! i lack any more sarcastic words!

the fact is they, mtn, voda etc are cell companies and low bundles are kick ass 4 cell phone usage and i have not seen ads from them pushing <1gb as broadband for a pc mebbe 500mb. iBurst is for pc, and u need eq to make it work unlike cell, and 40mb for eq cost and usage possible is sick. The whole campagein at r49 makes me sick cause they are clearly looking at the low cost market/entry level. Heck i do alot more on dial up, alot more. Obviously they abusing fact that nitwits at icasa defined bradband interms of speed only!
