iBurst ups mailbox size

I'm sure this is a big deal for the three or four people who've never heard of gmail.....

I don't actually get the whole 40mb bashing thing.

Vodacom and MTN (who most people seem to like around here) have been offering even lower data packages for ages, and at worse prices. Yet for everything iBurst does you get a page of comments about a 40mb offering. It's not like they force this on anyone or don't offer anything higher, and R50 isn't a terrible price either if you want this for some reason.

Many of the ADSL articles here are about 1GB combined packages, which are almost as useless seeing you're meant to actually use that over a month with an ADSL line, obviously not the purpose of a 40mb offering.

But tricking people who don't know any better into signing up and paying for the terrible bandwidth booster prices is a problem. :(

You answer the question yourself.

Haha, I know :/ but it's a bit overblown when every article about iBurst gets a couple of pretty much irrelevant 40mb comments.

I'm sure a similar Vodacom announcement wouldn't have these kinds of comments even though they offer the same (if not worse) packages and out of bundle prices.

EHV - Are the MTN offerings of a similar not meant for those of us who use our cellphones to access the net? I would be extremely surprised to hear that MTN targets those bundles towards people who expect to use them specifically with their laptops.

Thanks goodness I now have a 2Gb mailbox! I NOW GET SOME VALUE FOR MY R49!

They are so dumb. RPM - Please stop articles about IBurst. I cannot avoid bashing them :)

yeah i wonder too how this is news. hey look the pony did another trick. zzzzzzzzzz.

I guess this was looming for those individuals who printed @wbs.co.za/@iburst.co.za mail account on their business cards.

Sources close to product dev have being mentioning goggle mail platform used for iBurstSA mail hosting.

thank goodness people will not be forced to pay R29/pm for an additional 10MB mailbox.

iBurstSA and many other ISP's will continue to rip off/**** those who are still virgins to the Internet.

If each one of us can spread the word about this forum then we can help those who are being milked of their hard earned cash

See what does this mean? So they have a R49 offer.

How are they dumb for increasing the mailbox size?

They are, but the iBurst offerings aren't meant for anything that they get compared to here either.

I'm not sure what anyone would want to do with 40Mb, but that's their problem. How it relates to an increased mailbox size, who knows. Yet that is about 70% of the replies. It's just irritating now..

Oh EHV, join an iBurst support group, you'll feel better...

The issue with the 40MB account is that is smacks of unethical behaviour, think! – they deserve to get lashed for this.

Does anyone actually use their mailboxes after al their SMTP issues of the past?

Not sure I agree with that. Thing is if you agree with me that similar sized packages for MTN are aimed at users who use their cellphones, then the cost of the cellphone is not something that needs to be factored into the data package cost. there are few people who will drive the purchase of a cell because they can get a 10MB internet package for it.

However, for those that get the R49MB package, the cost of the modem is real. And they will find out if they decided to leave iBurst before the contract is up. On a cellphone, if I decide to cancel my 10MB package, that's that. No extra charges.
