Hi,

Am new to Iburst.
Was wondering, have a IBUST connection connecting with usb to a pc and on the same pc have a lan connection which is used to business connections direct.

Here is where the problem comes in.
If i only use the lan connection i can get my mail and browse the net but only at slow connection speed. if i connect using iburst i can browse fast but my mail and lan connection doesn't work.

PS the lan connection is only used for the mail!!!

Where do i go from here.

I'm guessing when you connect to iBurst, its default route takes preference.

If you're using Windows, when connected to iBurst, go to cmd prompt & type in route print. If you see two lines containing 0.0.0.0 then it is so.

Solution is to add static route to your mail server.

The mail server from which you get your mail, as per statement above.

hmmm...

Ok this may help out some more to the infrastructure.

This "LAN"Is not a LAN but a connection to central office of a Shopping complex!!

So in actuall fact its all a connection to a cisco router that routes to business connections.
So no local server i can alter.

All i get and can alter are is the ip of the lan and the local mail on the machine of course

Were still crossing lines ... do you know the IP addr of your mail server (not yours, but the one that "business connections" allows you to use?)

only have the ip address for the pop and smtp thats all.

Tried to find out if i could just use a pop & smtp from remote source.
Can't has to be local via lan
