Can i buy icare for an iPhone I didn't buy from the istore?

Say if I buy an iPhone from takealot can I still go to istore and take out icare? Or if I buy a phone overseas and come back home can I take out icare for that phone?

What doesn't icare cover?

Thanks

Get a good screen protector and cover. If the phone falls, the screen protector will shatter saving your device.
Be careful with your device.

You don't have a cover for yourself? If you lose an eye, nobody will give you another.

No, it’s a product for their own customers.

You could simply insure it with your insurer and achieve the exact same including theft protection.

I think you used to be able to do that, but not anymore I believe. Also keep in mind, it's just an extended warranty from 1 year to 2, and accidental damage cover with a huge co-payment. It's probably better to get a 'real' insurance product from an insurer like @SauRoNZA says.

iCare is not an Apple product.

It’s the Core Group trying to shill consumers with more money making rubbish. It’s literally an insurance policy with upfront payment.

I usually buy a proper AppleCare on Amazon or when overseas. If you can’t, like others said just insure it with your local insurer. Any money not going to core group is supporting a good force in the universe…
