Icasa should force Telkom to allow the SNO to use the land lines to our houses.
These were built using public funds and should be avalible to other companies,
this goes for Telkoms other networks as well.
As for ADSL. We should compare the international trends concerning caps, speed, price etc. And apply that to SA.

I am an idiot for only posting now. Too late perhaps damn.
Ask them how the hell they for example justify that Telkom charge R1014 for international domain name registration, while it only cost $8.5 and most ISP's including ourselves only charge R190?
R1014 for a service with actuall COST of only ± R58 means they are SICK so if you take above example you can just wonder how much is their actual bandwidth costs.
I will not be surprised if they paid not much for the absolute the minimum international bandwidth that they need and simply cram all users into that without even try to increase bandwidth to accommodate higher usage.

ISP's should offer more practical info to users regarding securing their connection and not just sell the product.
I use to work for one till very recently and there were many calls that came in from people who had a 1gb, 2 or even 6 gb account but, that were not told that they need a phoneline, etc.
That's exploitation.
