Curious, I haven't had time to do any digging up of anything other than the DoC's obvious Poisonous Ivyness weedlings, but in reference to the above, do you have access to a drip and copious supplies of Sodium Thiopental? or are we talking more whistle-blower?

I haven't exactly read any of his academic opinions, but just looking at his CV instantly shows how suitable he is for the job. He has worked in the telecoms regulation field in both the public and private sectors. He worked for Telkom for 15 years, 5 of which were spent at senior management level in his capacity of Head of Regulatory Affairs (1998-2001). He has a Phd in telecoms regulation (and one of his 2 supervisors was international telecoms superstar William Melody).

He is currently is academia in the Netherlands. He also has an MBA which had to do with Telkom's regulatory environment.

Anyway, to me it seems clear that he has a CV unmatched by any of the other candidates. This is a real no-brainer, as I see it. Therefore, to answer your question with a question, ask yourself this - "To what extent does the political will to dramatically change our telecoms industry exist?"
 
@Debbie2, sounds good, and he is definitely not currently employed by Telkodemonopolies?, but has prior knowledge & experience :).
