Ok I have had a longish chat with one of the people at Icasa.
Basically if we are going to do this I am going to take it offline onto email.

What we need to do it a covering letter describing the various problems.

Then attached we need everyone's Name, ID No, Email, Contact Number.
What I will probably attach to this is a crossreference of to the problems encountered.

If you can indicate your interest in taking part in this, I will start on a draft covering letter which I will then circulate and people can comment on before we submit.

I will not be cc'ing Neotel on this letter.
 
Yes , I have had friends getting refunds from MTN and others. If you want to start negative then go your own route please.
If you are not willing to try then you will not get anything. Plain simple fact of life
 
@Gary are you in God mode? Your not above anyone here. And people do have the right to be negative about something.

I think your attitude and response is completely inappropriate.

Gary wants to do something constructive about a problem and he did not ask you to do anything unless you wanted to make a positive attempt to address the same problem.
You posted a negative comment.

Gary - very courteously explained the background, then asked you to not derail the purpose of the thread and clarified the implications of being negative.

Your above response is uncalled for and insulting.

Go and read the 1st post again...

At no time did I say that I would just send in a letter and all I need is your details.
I said I would create a draft, pass it round for comment and changes and then submit it on behalf of the people whose details would be attached.

Yes, maybe nothing will come from it, maybe a lot will. But if you are just going to be totally negative, then do not even become involved. Do not act like a kid who has just had his sweaties taken away from him. Act like an adult who has a problem and needs a solution. Whether that solution is better service or compensation.

I can just as easily just do it for myself. I have enough proof and motivation allready on my own. But a group effort holds a lot more weight and water.

And no you are not being realistic, you are being negative.

If you think I had a God complex, then why do you not take this on and drive it ? I will happily let you do it.

@VanZan I have removed the post. Thats apology enough, So Gary I apologize :) But it just so happens that we have tried so many routes to get them to fix our issues that one can wonder if this will work
 
Look, I've been down this road too, and I would follow, but I keep giving Neotel chances, and with Hugo around, he actually makes more effort than most Neotel people - some of you are just beyond ... can't find a word for you... but 'bloody impatient' comes to mind.

You can't expect the oke to come to the site and fix everyones problems in a week!

You can't expect him to also get X and Y within a hour or so, he has to go through some people as well, and they have work... instead of attacking, just be a tad bit patient and give the guy a chance.
 
But lets keep this on topic. @Gary I am in. Can we setup a email box where people can email their details too? I could get one up quickly and give you access.

yeh guys, so what if your neotel is more down that up
so what if you dont even get a third of the promised speeds
so what if the call centre are run but a bunch of headless chickens
so what if 3 out of 7 days your already bad service just stops working with a network failure
so what if your account is always wrong
so what if your phone drops every second call (on a good day)

give the guy a chance, he is only human, rome wasn't build in a day;)
 
Going to give this a day to gauge how many people are interested , then will send out a mail address.

Nope I agree that it cant all be fixed in a week. I have wasted at least 2 months subs on a service which cannot be used for what I actually wanted it for and for which it actually worked for a short while.

Icasa will give neotel 14 working days to comment on the letter once they receive it. Almost another 3 weeks.
 
@ Hugo - Keep it up laddie. It's an inanimate thing they are venting on.

@ Gary so what were the options that you were given before Hugo arrived?
 
Hmmmm Cancel my account and pay for the device ...

I was given a "trial" antennae, but the problems of disconnections ( every minute to 3 minutes ) are still there as well as 10KB - 50KB wildly fluctuating transfer rate. At least with the antennae I can at least get a signal. Bit of a far cry from when I had full green signal with no antennae, no disconnections and a 1.6mb transfer rate. That all changed in 2hours lol

I'm apparently in an area that receives overflow or spilling or something along those lines.. I have an antenna but my speed also go from ****e to naught very often, they did offer me the option of not paying for the device and cancelling. Which I thought was very fair none of the other SP's ISP or mobile would allow that.
