ICASA's ability to regulate questioned

ICASA have no balls, they so scared of the big players, for reasons unknown, that they let the big boys negotiate between themselves . Hell, maybe someone in ICASA is getting a big back hand?????

IACSA a Regulator !??, here I was thinking it was just a training camp for fututre telkom and vodacom employees.

ICASA was and is everything the ANC wanted them to be. Being as designed is hardly a failure.

That may be so, but then they should have never used the word "regulator" or "authority" in reference to them, because they were neither. And why is parliament now calling for their heads if they only did what the ANC wanted them to do? Doesn't make sense.

Different faction of the ANC in power now, so they have new targets, and new people who have to be placed onto the gravy train.

Incompetent Communications Authority of South Africa
The name says it all - nothing to add.

I tried - really I did.

ICASA is way too slow and way to kiddish of corporates... It must take a firmer view on protecting consumers... It is part of its mandate!!!

It is in the interest of South Africa as a country to have as much competition in the market as possible. ICASA somehow convinced itself that it has the duty to make sure whether business are viable in the current market. THAT IS NOT ITS JOB!!!! If for some odd reason it is, then it should be undone and made clear that IT IS NOT ICASA's JOB!!!!

The companies that do not make it, will have their own hell to pay. It is not ICASA's job to baby them. If there is spectrum, give it away! Let even tiny businesses compete with the big dogs!!!

Exactly. Why can't somebody service only a suburb, or a town? Paying the exorbitant fees just to get a license is already preventing companies from even trying something like that.
