ICC Twenty20 2014

Still not the winning formula.

Anyway, England's kit is the worst I've seen! They normally have the best kit.

Yup. I feel like I'm watching an early nineties website.

It's just flashing luminous everywhere...

Stats show that Amla has adapted just fine. Faf was injured so he couldn't have played this game. Leave the mighty # alone.

Great call.

An average of 20 odd and a strike rate just above 100 isn't anything to write home about. His T20 is nowhere near his ODI record. I'm not slagging Amla as a player, but in T20 cricket his done very little.

I don't want to blame AB but has he ever played a match winning innings in T20's? I can't think of one.

Amazing when you think about how unbelievable he is in IPL.

He averages 20 with a SR of 120 which is poor.

Just curious? Are you guys looking for a scapegoat? I say it again, the team as a whole did not perform at their best. Imo, no individual player is to blame.

Actually in most world cups we start off strong and implode when it matters. Perhaps it's good for us to get this loss out of the way...

So New Zealand now ahead on D/L. No rain at the moment but more forks of lightning, thunder claps too. Now the umpires get together but we're staying out.

And they carry on playing? Have they not heard of lightning killing people in the open? :erm:

Pretty sure if you had to ask any of the players they'd opt to stay on the field unless it got really serious...

10pm Now the rain comes and we're dashing off into the pavilion. New Zealand ahead on D/L at the stage and we've had five overs so it will be a result with no more cricket. The square has been covered but nothing else if that's any kind of positive sign. The rain isn't too heavy, just a flash of nasty stuff but still drizzling. Now the heavy stuff has come back and that's a worry for England...

10.15pm Rain continuing to fall. We get an extra half-hour to try and get the overs in but not looking too good for further cricket at the moment. I'll keep you posted.

Not the way I'd want a contest to end.

you only choke if you were the favourites to win the game.

we were not.

get a life.
True yes for this instance. With the top 5 teams in the world who really is the favorite on a given day? Rankings don't matter much with these countries in a limited over contest like a T20 - it can go any direction very quickly.
Between Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, SA, Australia, are you willing to place a serious bet? I'll be surprised if you do.

I used the top five teams as ranked currently.

Let's see if the fat lady sings your way.
Any given day anything can happen

BTW most bookies had SL as odds on favourites to win.
Skybet: South Africa 6/4; Sri Lanka 8/15
William Hill: Sri Lanka 4/6; South Africa 11/10

etc...
