yeah I deserve that one :D:D

Spinners have rolled over the Aussies....
# & AB need to come to the party once again.... the others are also invited :D

That semi-final against India is scheduled for Friday..ag nee, was hoping for Saturday :(

Hopefully SA can have a good bat with all of our batsmen firing. At the moment I think if we can post something around 180 we have a chance. The Indians have not chased nor set a total of 165+ IIRC, so hopefully that counts against them.

Whats the worst that could happen ? Choke ?
I don't see how you can choke when you are NOT the favourites to win either the game or the tournament.

Not directed at you, but too many folks throw around the chokers tag without even know WTF they are talking about.

My understanding of choke could also include snatching defeat from the jaws of victory - so looking good for a win, whether as favourite or underdog, and fluffing it.

Yes, an implosion due to a lack of BMT could be described as a choke. It could also be as a result of a moment of brilliance by an opposition player...

Sure - except when such moments of brilliance become the norm ;)

I suppose if you get into a winning position even if you're not favourites and end up losing, it can still be classified as a choke?

@ Mickey

Comment was tongue in cheek :p

I guess the media ( local and international ) have given the title of "Chokers" to South Africa , largely to their own misfortune of not being able to handle pressure situations in the past. They have UNFAIRLY being labeled "CHOKERS" IMO because there really is only one team that can emerge victorious and by default the losers will have had to "choke" by simply losing or not showing up.

Just look at SL, they have also developed a "choking tag" as its been a while since they have won an ICC event despite making many finals.

The choking tag is harsh, but SA can only get that ugly monkey off their back when they win an event of note.

The talent is there, on paper they are easily one of the better teams in the international circuit. Just bad luck seems to keep following them at these major events which sometimes is beyond their own control.

SA fans are also frustrated because of the talent available, they should be winning more tournaments. Nobody likes to lose, more so when one has the ability to defeat most. Whether the stumbling block is more a mental issue is another debate for another day.

Whilst they still in it, they have a chance to win it.

Should they lose in either the semi's or final, THE CHOKERS TAG will continue to haunt them. FACT.

Amla and AB are the better players of spin bowling . To win they will need to put in a similar performance as they did against the POMS.

Our bowlers still need to pull up their socks. No were as consistent as they should be bar Tahir.

Is India a strong team or are the other teams slacking against them?
Theyve had an easy tournament thus far.
Pak, WI and Aus went into limp mode against them.
West Indies imo never even tried to challenge India, same with Aus! 44/4, 55/5, 66/6, 77/7 for Australia?

Something fishy there.
