Start the Gangnam Style, West Indies have won by 74 runs and qualify for the World T20 final against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Congratulations to all in the Caribbean, their first final since 2006 Champions Trophy.
Australia swept all before them in the pool stages and the super eights, except for the final dead rubber, but got comprehensively thumped in the semis. What is that definition of choking again?
Sorry, my mistake, choking is the word used for any SA loss only...

SL have made a few finals andd ended up losing...
Even they can be deemed chokers...
That is the stupid thing, it seems almost any loss nowadays is referred to as a choke. Silly. Even when referring to wiki (with it's obvious user bias) the Proteas are mentioned for their losses in the world cup but then three of the examples given are hardly chokes!
1992 Rain reduced a makeable target of 22 off 13 to 22 off 1 ball
1999 Heading for what looked like a certain loss before Klusenar heroics (36 off 21 balls which pre-T20 was exceptional) gave us a sniff and then the unfortunate run out.
2003 Again affected by rain and the new Duckworth-Lewis being incorrectly interpreted. Stupidity if anything but not a choke. At the time many teams, and commentators, admitted to not knowing that the score shown meant you need one more.
So the choker tag is based on getting knocked out of 5 world cups of which three are hardly chokes, in my opinion, but just unfortunate.
EDIT : Out of interest is was partly as a result of the fiasco at the 1992 world cup that a decision was made to alter the rules for rain affected matches.
You can't choke in a final, it's anyone's game, the best 2.
SA are the chokers on cricket today.
Don't know why people try and defend it.
Hope Windies take it!!!!
32/2 after 10 overs. Not a great start to this test match![]()
