ICC World Twenty20 2012

Doesn't really bother me. Since we went out, I've switched allegiances to the WI and hope they take revenge on the Aussies in the semis and go on to win. If there's one team who deserves some good fortune it's them.

Yeah, WI to take it!!!! WOOOOOT!!!

As long as it is not any Southern Hemisphere or sand people team....

Thank f uck that wasn't for a semi final spot.

Too true. I don't actually know what they are doing. Takes them how many games to pick Faf and look what he did. In one innings he scored more runs than Levi did the whole tournament give or take a couple. They pick Albie Morkel as a batsmen for this match and then bat him at number 9. In all of the previous games, the line up was so fluid you couldn't have caught it in an egg cup yet in this match, they decide to keep it completely rigid and not send in Albie early. That pushed the RRR from 7.5 to over 9 by the time he got in. And please for goodness sake, could someone explain to me what good these 1 over spells are doing for our bowlers.

Can someone explain what the hell Behardien's role in the team is? Can't rotate the strike, can't hit boundaries, can't take catches...wtf?

Also again, Albie chosen as a batsman and comes in with like 3 overs left.

So both these teams heading home, time for a fun presentation. "Disappointed isn't the word to describe it, we've had a poor tournament," AB de Villiers says. "We've let the country down and that's what hurts most. We did all the preparation possible, we thought we were ready but the guys didn't click."

Yeah, AB, but the thing is that we are getting quite used to the Proteas crashing out of important competitions. So not too worry.

Also said that they had the best 15 players which is complete tripe. Why was Miller not selected given his recent form? He could have played in place of the useless Behardien. And Levi and Parnell, they're far from being the best.

Ja, not too worry. If it's not the Proteas it's the Stormers. Quite used to it by now. :(

/shrugs

Ja - not to worry - we're used to it by now

Dunno what we'll do if either of those teams actually live up to their potential

Ps. Don't forget to build up the hopes and expectations of the whole nation yet again...

Does anyone actually expect the Proteas to perform at these things anymore? The balance of the team was all wrong and none of the senior batsmen are on form. This just never looked like a 6 runs per over plus side. At least we are still the best test side. I'll take that over 20/20 any day.

A dead rubber match with no pressure to think of, and you still could not pull it off.
Come to think of it, it has nothing to do with so called choking, maybe just maybe it has to do with not being good enough and that the opposition are just a much better outfit.

Some free advice gents:

The Proteas gave their best, and some times your best is not good enough, give the players some credit, they are the ones out there playing on the field with a nations expectations on their chests and not the ones sitting on couch shouting out orders and telling them how to play the game of cricket.

Another tip, it's the media that hypes up and brainwashes the masses and also puts a lot of expectations on a team, and us the viewer falls for it everytime, good example is supersport adverts.

Anyway, hardlines lads,

Ps, I hope the ozzies take it, they are ozzies after all but we are torn from the same cloth.

Same here - 20/20 is good for funsies - rather listen to 20/20 on radio than the other crud on radio

Toilet bowl rags?

A quick analysis of the 8 teams that progressed through to the Super Eights, i.e. Group 1, and Group 2 shows that SA were overall the worst performing team.

Group 1 has NZ as the lowest ranking team in that group, with zero wins from 3 games.

Group 2 has SA as the lowest, also with zero wins.

But NZ finished with a slightly better NRR that SA.

So SA were actually the worst team in the tournament involving the last 8.
I can't wait for the excuses that will be uttered by SA management, coaching staff, and players.

SA have dropped from 1st to 5th on the ICC T20 rankings, in the space of a week.
